| The red arrow above points to the time that this audio clip was recorded. One of the prime objectives of ASIAEX was to study the effect of internal waves on acoustic propagation. These internal waves create fast and strong currents under the sea surface. When a wave hits our mooring, it often may move something that is loose. Here is the sound of (what we think is) a shackle near the top of our vertical line array hitting the metal float at the top of the array. The metal float is very buoyant and keeps our array wire taut. |
